Principal's Pen - August 2018I hope you enjoyed your summer break and invested time with friends and family in fun and relaxing activities.  We have had a busy summer at CTHS and are looking forward to a wonderful  2018-19 school year.  I want to share some important information to help you prepare for a successful beginning to the year.

The incoming freshman class of 2022 will be welcomed to CTHS Freshman First Day on Friday, August 17 at 7:15 a.m.  We will be serving breakfast to students and PISD buses will provide transportation to and from CTHS.  We encourage all freshman to attend and participate in this unique first experience at CTHS.  We will not serve lunch, as students dismiss at 11:30 a.m.

All students return to class on Monday, August 20.  School hours are from 7:15 am until 2:35 pm.  PISD buses will provide transportation to and from CTHS at all regular bus stops.  Please visit the PISD website and the Transportation Services link for specific bus stop locations.

Senior and junior students may purchase parking permits for $30.  Students must have a valid Texas Driver’s License and proof of insurance for the 18-19 school year.  Students must have a parking permit in order to park on the CTHS campus.

Student drop off and pick up is located in the main drive at the front of the CTHS campus along the Beltway 8 side of the campus.  For safety reasons, we would appreciate your cooperation by not entering, driving through, or dropping off students in the faculty parking or bus turnaround areas on the Genoa Red Bluff side of the campus.

Safety continues to be a priority for us at CTHS.  All students and staff must wear their ID badge during the school day.  Access into our building is carefully controlled and all visitors check in at the reception desk located at the main entrance.  We continue to train our staff and complete practice drills and scenarios coordinated with our Pasadena ISD Police department.  We continue to utilize the “See Something, Say Something” process so that students, staff and parents can quickly share safety concerns with our administrative team.

We will issue tablets to students in our Connect program and Grade 9 on Thursday, August 23 and to students in Grades 10, 11 and 12 on Friday, August 24.  We will continue collecting the $30 fee to cover accidental damage and breakage on the tablet.

Our senior class of 2019 has already scheduled their senior yearbook and graduation pictures beginning on Tuesday, August 28 through Thursday, August 30.

Please visit our website (www.cthsweb.com), follow us on Facebook and Twitter, and sign up for Remind101.  Thank you for choosing CTHS.  We look forward to an exciting school year!
