November is a busy month and here are some of the exciting things happening at CTHS.

We will conclude our eighth grade recruiting visits on Monday, November 4. We have toured over 4,000 eighth grade students through CTHS in October and look forward to meeting many of them and their parents at our eighth grade parent night on Tuesday, November 5 from 5:30-7:00 p.m. We are currently receiving online applications for the 2020-21 school year through December 2 at www.applycths.web.

Ninth, tenth, and eleventh grade students who missed their yearbook photo opportunity or students who need a retake should come to the CTHS Conference Center on Tuesday, November 5 for picture retakes.

U.S. Department of Education Assistant Secretary for Career, Technical, and Adult Education Scott Stump will be visiting CTHS on Wednesday, November 6. Asst. Secretary Stump will be touring the career and technical pathways, meeting with school leaders, and learning what makes CTHS such a unique and exciting place to learn.

Our annual CTHS book fair, hosted by Barnes and Noble, will be held on Wednesday and Thursday, November 6 and 7 in our Staff Development Room. If you would like to pick up some early Christmas gifts, please stop by the book fair as a portion of the book sales are returned to support our CTHS library.

Our culinary students will once again be representing CTHS and competing in the annual Pasadena Chamber of Commerce’s Taste of the Town event at the Pasadena Convention Center on Thursday, November 7. Tickets can be purchased at pasadenachamber.org. We hope to see you there to support our students.

CTHS students will be representing our campus in a number of competitions this month. Robotics, Chess, Future Educators, and Culinary are just a few of the groups who will be competing this month. We wish all of these students and instructors the best as they display their talents in competitions across the area.

November 11-15 is College Week in Pasadena I.S.D. The annual College Fair Night for students and parents will be held on Wednesday, November 13 beginning at 6:00 p.m. at the Deer Park High School South Campus on San Augustine Drive in Deer Park. Colleges and universities from across Texas and the U.S. will be present to visit with students and parents. Please plan to attend to gather valuable information from these representatives.

We will honor our Academic Excellence Award winners at our awards celebration on Thursday, November 14 at 6:30 p.m. in the CTHS lobby. Students will be notified and parents and families are invited to attend as we celebrate the academic achievements of these outstanding students.

Our annual CTHS Talent Show will be held on Friday afternoon, November 22 from 1:00-2:30 p.m. in our lobby.

Students and staff will be displaying their talents at this fun and enjoyable event.

Our campus will be closed in observance of the Thanksgiving Holidays from Monday, November 25- Friday, November 29. We wish you and your family a wonderful, safe, and restful holiday. Be safe if you are traveling and enjoy your holiday!
